Parks & Recreation Events
The Middle Smithfield Township Parks Department hosts several annual events. See below for details on each one of our annual public events. Please check out our Parks Calendar for dates of upcoming parks events in the current year!
Our first annual event each year and our annual kick off to springtime!
The annual Eggstravaganza brings the community together after the long winter for candy, games, and photos with the Bunny.
Held annually on a Saturday near Easter at Resica Park.
Our newest event is also quickly becoming one of our most popular! Featuring a Volunteer Fair to showcase community organizations in our area, plus a Touch a Truck and other activities for kids of all ages, Community Day brings our township together!
Held annually at Echo Lake Park.
Happy Halloween! Local businesses and members of the community decorate their cars and give out candy to costumed kids. The best cars get a prize! Participants can also take part in several activities and each child gets a free pumpkin.
Held annually on a Saturday before Halloween at Resica Park.
Happy Holidays!
Our kickoff to the Holiday Season! Bands and choirs from East Stroudsburg High School provide music while the crowd enjoys free hot cocoa. Then, Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive courtesy the Marshalls Creek Fire Company to light the tree and visit with the kids. But the highlight is our fireworks display!
Held annually on Thanksgiving weekend at Echo Lake Park.
One of our most important events. Twice a year, hundreds of volunteers clean up hundreds of thousands of feet of street. Volunteers sign in at the Township building to get supplies, get split into groups, and depart to various locations throughout the Township to beautify Rt 209 (our "Main Street") and other roads throughout Middle Smithfield. The Township provides reflective vests, road crew signs, and other supplies as needed.
Held every spring and fall. Visit the Litter & Beautification page for more information. We hope you will join us to make MST pretty!
The Parks Department schedules other public classes and events throughout the year! We hope you will join us for dog trainings at the dog park, gardening classes at the community gardens, and more!
